There is a growing sentiment of the top 3 teams in the country, and ESPN’s Joey Galloway and Jesse Palmer have weighed in with their opinions on the widely held consensus. They shared their opinion on ESPN’s “College Football Final.”

It’s outside the top 3 where many analysts change their opinion, although Galloway and Palmer agree on Notre Dame at No. 4. Palmer said he dropped Georgia from No. 4 to No. 5 because QB Stetson Bennett is starting to “scare me withe interceptions,” although he loves Georgia’s defense and the way the Bulldogs run the ball.

“He’s got to play better against the Gators next week,” Palmer said.

As for Notre Dame, Palmer said the Fighting Irish finally get their opportunity this week against Clemson to prove that they’re a College Football Playoff contender. Galloway said Notre Dame needs to continue to work on its passing game, although it has a great offensive line and running game, and the defense is solid.

In terms of Ohio State, Galloway said he’s waited on the Buckeyes offensive line and running game to get going.

“They were physical up front, the score was a little closer than you’d like, but really they were outmatched in that game and they really ran over Penn State,” Galloway said.
