ESPN reportedly has its Adam Schefter of college football, according to the New York Post’s Andrew Marchand.

Pete Thamel will leave Yahoo! Sports for ESPN, and he’ll be doing what he does best for the company — breaking news. Marchand explains that ESPN envisions Thamel will become like Schefter (NFL), Adrian Wojnarowski (NBA) and Jeff Passan (MLB); however, Thamel will write more than both Schefter and Wojnarowski.

The Athletic’s Richard Deitsch also reported that Thamel will be featured on College GameDay.

“As first reported by @AndrewMarchand, ESPN has hired Pete Thamel to be its lead college football insider. What I can add of interest is Thamel will be a weekly part of @CollegeGameDay. It doesn’t mean he’ll be onsite every week but he’ll be a major figure on that show,” Deitsch wrote on Twitter.

Thamel is certainly well known around the college football landscape as a major news breaker. ESPN poached Wojnarowski and Passan from Yahoo! Sports previously, too.

Thamel will join Mark Schlabach, Adam Rittenberg, Heather Dinich and Chris Low, among others.
