The 2019 regular season is officially in the books, and what a wild Rivalry Weekend to end on.

Auburn upset Alabama 48-45 in one of the most epic Iron Bowls in history. That, of course, ends Alabama’s College Football Playoff hopes. ESPN’s Football Power Index, however, still ranks Alabama at No. 3 in the nation despite two losses.

The FPI is described as the following on its website:

The Football Power Index (FPI) is a measure of team strength that is meant to be the best predictor of a team’s performance going forward for the rest of the season. FPI represents how many points above or below average a team is. Projected results are based on 10,000 simulations of the rest of the season using FPI, results to date, and the remaining schedule. Elsewhere, LSU destroyed Texas A&M; Georgia hammered Georgia Tech; Florida dismantled FSU. The Tigers and Bulldogs will play in the SEC Championship Game on Saturday for a Playoff spot.
