With Week 11 in the books, ESPN Analytics has updated its ranking models. The Football Power Index (FPI) has been adjusted and revealed its new top 25 teams.

ESPN Analytics defines the FPI as a measure of team strength that is meant to be the best predictor of a team’s performance going forward for the rest of the season. When it comes to rankings, the FPI is consistently unpredictable. The Week 12 rankings follow through on that front.

After another wild weekend, we have a new No. 1 team, according to the FPI. The Michigan Wolverines defeated the Penn State Nittany Lions, giving the team its best win of the season. The Ohio State Buckeyes were bounced down to No. 2, even after handily defeating the Michigan State Spartans.

Oregon, Alabama, and Penn State round out the FPI’s top 5 teams. The Nittany Lions only dropped 1 spot after losing to Michigan, and remain ahead of the undefeated Georgia Bulldogs, Florida State Seminoles, and Washington Huskies.

Interestingly, the Tennessee Vols only dropped 2 spots after getting blown out by the Missouri Tigers. The Vols are at No, 16 and the Tigers are at No. 19.
