Projecting the future in the NFL is a fool’s errand, but ESPN decided to have some fun with it on Friday.

The site predicted each NFL team’s quarterback in 2020, and one team in particular had a surprising name next to it.

As you can see in the full list here, Georgia freshman QB Jake Fromm is projected to be the Cleveland Browns’ starter by then. According to the list, Fromm will be the No. 1 overall pick in the 2020 draft and take over the starting job immediately.

Here are the other current and former SEC starting quarterbacks who are expected to be starting in the NFL in three years:

  • Cleveland Browns: Jake Fromm
  • Miami Dolphins: Jalen Hurts
  • Pittsburgh Steelers: Josh Dobbs
  • Detroit Lions: Matthew Stafford
  • Carolina Panthers: Cam Newton
  • Dallas Cowboys: Dak Prescott

Obviously, ESPN was just having fun with this list, as projecting a 2020 NFL Draft is insanely difficult right now.

Who knows what the future holds for Fromm and the other quarterbacks on this list (Mizzou QB Drew Lock missed the cut, apparently), but it’s safe to say he’s on the right track to be the No. 1 pick at this particular moment.
