3 incoming SEC transfers featured on ESPN list of 10 ‘most important’ transfers

At least a couple of SEC teams will be looking at incoming transfers as potential starting quarterbacks this fall.
That qualifies as a pretty important position, so it makes sense that we see a few of their names on ESPN’s recently released list of college football’s 10 most important transfers for the 2016 season.
Here’s where the SEC showed up on the list:
- 2. Trevor Knight, QB (Texas A&M via Oklahoma)
- 7. Luke Del Rio, QB (Florida via Oregon State)
- 10. Priest Willis, DB (Texas A&M via UCLA)
Former Texas A&M QB Kenny Hill showed up on the list as No. 8 as he becomes eligible at TCU, and former Houston QB John O’Korn topped the list for becoming eligible at Michigan.
It makes sense that both Texas A&M and Florida would rely on transfer QBs, given that each school’s “franchise” QB transferred at the end of the 2015 season.
Former Purdue QB Austin Appleby was also mentioned as a quarterback that is eligible immediately at Florida and could make an impact if he’s able to beat out Del Rio and Treon Harris for the Gators job.
