ESPN’s College GameDay crew has finalized their picks for the national championship game.

The GameDay crew shared their predictions just before kickoff inside NRG Stadium on Monday night. It was not a unanimous between the four panelists. Kirk Herbstreit will be on the call for this game and was not part of this panel.

Here’s how the predictions broke down:

  • Desmond Howard: Michigan
  • Joey Galloway: Michigan
  • Pat McAfee: Washington
  • Lee Corso: Michigan

“I have great respect for Washington, but I’m picking Michigan,” Corso said.

Both teams enter this game with perfect 14-0 records. Michigan is a consensus 5-point favorite over the Huskies for this contest.

Michigan needed a come-from-behind victory to defeat Alabama in the Rose Bowl last week. JJ McCarthy threw a game-tying touchdown pass near the end of regulation to force overtime. Then, after a Michigan TD in OT, the Wolverines’ defense got the stop it needed to win the game on 4th and goal.

Washington won in dramatic fashion as well, edging out Texas in the Sugar Bowl last week.

Michigan is looking for its first national championship since 1997. Washington has not won college football’s greatest prize since 1991.
