ESPN's FPI predicts the outcome of Alabama at LSU in Week 11
ESPN’s Football Power Index (FPI) predicts the outcome of each college football game every weekend. With Week 10 now behind us, the predictions for Week 11 have been released.
The Week 11 predictions include the Alabama-LSU matchup. The model heavily leans toward Alabama, giving the Crimson Tide a 69.8% chance to win the rivalry game. This means the Tigers have a 30.2% chance of pulling off the upset at home.
Entering Week 11, the Tide have a 6-2 overall record and a 3-2 mark in SEC play. The Tigers are also 6-2 overall and have a 3-1 SEC record. Both teams had a bye in Week 10 in preparation for this matchup.
In Week 9, the Tide blanked Missouri at home, winning 34-0. The Tigers, however, picked up their only SEC loss of the season after falling to Texas A&M in Week 9. LSU’s other loss came to USC in Week 1, while Alabama has losses against Vanderbilt and Tennessee.
The Tide and Tigers have played each other 88 times in history. Alabama has won the game 56 times while LSU has won 27, and the teams have tied 5 times. In recent times, the Tide have dominated the series, winning 8 of the last 10. The Tigers’ last wins in this rivalry came in 2022 and 2019.
The 2024 edition of this rivalry game could have postseason implications. Both the Tigers and the Tide are hoping to make the expanded 12-team Playoff. Alabama has an easier remaining schedule than LSU as the Tide play Mercer, Oklahoma, and Auburn.
LSU will play Florida, No. 24 Vanderbilt, and Oklahoma to end the season.
This exciting Week 11 matchup will kick off from Tiger Stadium on Saturday at 7:30 p.m. ET.
