For Week 7, it’s a light slate with just four games, but one of those games will put an SEC East team in the driver’s seat for the division title.

The annual battle in Jacksonville between Georgia and Florida headlines Week 7 in the SEC. The No. 5 Bulldogs and No. 8 Gators each have one loss to SEC West teams and are looking for that two-game lead in the SEC East heading into the second half of the season.

Elsewhere, No. 7 Texas A&M travels to South Carolina, Tennessee travels to Arkansas and Mississippi State hosts Vanderbilt. ESPN’s Football Power Index (FPI) projects the outcome of each of Saturday’s 4 SEC matchups.

Here’s who favored according to the FPI:

  • Georgia (63.7 percent chance to win) vs. Florida
  • Mississippi State (87.1 percent) vs. Vanderbilt
  • Texas A&M (55,3 percent) at South Carolina
  • Arkansas (52.7 percent) vs. Tennessee

Here is ESPN’s definition of the FPI:

The Football Power Index (FPI) is a measure of team strength that is meant to be the best predictor of a team’s performance going forward for the rest of the season. FPI represents how many points above or below average a team is. Projected results are based on 20,000 simulations of the rest of the season using FPI, results to date, and the remaining schedule. Ratings and projections update daily. FPI data from seasons prior to 2019 may not be complete.
