ESPN’s Football Power Index (FPI) always predicts the outcome of each college football game ahead of every weekend. It’s crazy to think that this is the regular season finale, but that’s where we are.

The model has updated its predictions for rivalry week, and the Oklahoma-LSU game doesn’t have a huge favorite. The model gives the Tigers a 59.3% chance to win which means the Sooners have a 40.7% chance to pull off the upset.

Entering this matchup, the Tigers are sitting at 7-4 while the Sooners are 6-5. The Sooners are coming off a massive upset win over Alabama in Week 13, likely ending the teams’s College Football Playoff hopes, The Tigers, meanwhile, picked up a win over Vanderbilt.

The Tigers once had Playoff hopes of their own, but consecutive losses to Texas A&M, Alabama, and Florida dashed those hopes. Now, the team just hopes to end the regular season on a positive note and prepare for their bowl game.

On offense, the Tigers hold a huge edge in this matchup. LSU has the No. 29 total offense while Oklahoma is way down at No. 118. The Sooners have been decimated by injuries and inconsistent quarterback play in 2024, and offensive coordinator Seth Littrell was fired already.

Garrett Nussmeier is 7th in the nation in passing yards with 3,458. The QB also has 23 TDs to 11 INTs on the year. Only 6 teams in the country have a better passing offense than LSIU through 13 weeks.

These new SEC foes have played just 3 times in history, and 2 of those were in bowl games. The teams last met in 2019 when the Tigers picked up a massive 63-28 win.

This game will kick off from Tiger Stadium on Saturday at 7:00 p.m. ET.
