It’s time to hand out the massive Battle Line Rivalry trophy. Missouri and Arkansas meet on Friday to get fans in the Rivalry Week before the last full college football Saturday of the season.

Mizzou is motivated to finish the regular season with a victory. The Tigers enter the game with a 9-2 record and ranked No. 9. MU can win 10 games for the first time in Eli Drinkwitz’s tenure and stay in position for a New Year’s Six bowl.

Arkansas, meanwhile, is out of the bowl picture. The Razorbacks have had a disappointing 2023 season, going 4-7 with a mark of just 1-6 in conference play. Dan Enos was fired midseason as offensive coordinator. Fourth-year head coach Sam Pittman is getting a fifth season, Arkansas athletic director Hunter Yurachek announced this month.

Mizzou has dominated the series with Arkansas. Since becoming an annual SEC series in 2014, the Tigers have a 7-2 advantage, winning 29-27 last year in Columbia. The Hogs, though, did win the last meeting in Fayetteville, 34-17 in 2021.

ESPN defines the Football Power Index as a measure of team strength that is meant to be the best predictor of a team’s performance going forward. The FPI uses simulations to predict a game’s outcome.

The FPI strongly favors Mizzou in this year’s Battle Line Rivalry. The Tigers have a 71.4% chance to win on Friday according to the FPI. Kickoff is set for 4 p.m. ET on CBS.
