ESPN's Pat McAfee responds to Urban Meyer's 'College GameDay' diss
Urban Meyer’s recent shot at ESPN did not go unnoticed.
Meyer recently discussed his role on FOX as an analyst on the network’s pregame show in an interview with the Big Ten Network. He took a not-so-subtle shot at ESPN’s “College GameDay:”
“I had fun – turns out folks wanna talk about football, they don’t want to see jumpin’ in lakes or goin on rollercoasters”
ESPN analyst Pat McAfee jumped in a river on GameDay in November. While Meyer got his bodies of water wrong, McAfee knew the comment was about him.
I know it can be hard to remember things but it was a river not a lake.
My mom as soon as it happened said “When you were in the air, I started having heart complications OUT OF NOWHERE”
She’s been completely fine ever since.. happy for her.
Anyways, thanks 4 watching Coach. https://t.co/7yjDJAlGIP

Meyer worked at ESPN in 2011, his “spend-more-time-with-my-family” year in between leaving Florida and coaching at Ohio State.
Solid wit
Guess we should be thankful for the two “Natty’s”. But it’s sort’ve like when you have a Christmas party at your house, when they leave someone has to cleanup all the mess that’s left behind.
Urban needs to learn that is not just him that needs to have fun, it’s also the viewer. Pat does a good job as an analyst and is also funny. Maybe Urban should jump in a lake.
This guy has the right idea
The lake of fire
That’s too funny
Ok Ill say it. Meyer, the greasy scumbag that he is, has been great on tv. Idk how.
Agree, he and the Fox show are pretty good and to the point. Particularly the hour long variety. Game Day has gotten a little tiresome with some of the frills but still like it and McAfee and a little fun as well.
Throw in SEC Nation and it’s nice to have options.
Gameday has a completely stale format and has for years, but Pat’s pro-wrestling antics are breathing life into the program
Urban has quit two jobs. How many does it require to have that word as part of his ‘legacy?’
As a Head Coach, Urban Meyer is superb. But as a person…I have not ever heard nor ready anything positive about him. And true. Urban has no concept of having-fun, whereas Pat loves life and enjoys it…like the rest of us do. I enjoy the comraderie of the guys on Game Day, and watch it for the sheer enjoyment, rather than a “football Lesson” about the “X’s and O’s” of viewing the game from a coach’s viewpoint. Go Game Day ! Urban=No way !
McAfee is a clown, and one whose voice never changed all the way. Sounds like he just sucked helium out of a balloon.
And why is a former PUNTER an analyst?
What’s your problem with him. He brings humor to the game.
