ESPN’s SP+ predicts every SEC game for Week 6
We are headed into Week 6 of the college football season, and in the SEC, the game that will garner the most attention is No. 1 Alabama vs. Texas A&M in Tuscaloosa. Nick Saban and Jimbo Fisher were involved in a very public spat in May over Saban’s allegations that Texas A&M had bought its 2022 recruiting class, and although the 2 men have made peace with one another, there’s sure to be plenty of narrative surrounding the matchup.
That might steal a little of the spotlight from Tennessee and LSU, an intriguing top 25 matchup. Brian Kelly’s team, which found itself at No. 25 in the most recent rankings, will be looking to make it 5 straight after a season-opening loss to Florida State, while Josh Heupel’s group, ranked 8th, hopes to improve to 5-0 before hosting Alabama at Neyland Stadium on Oct. 15.
There’s also the Deep South’s Oldest Rivalry, as Georgia, which has dropped to No. 2 after subpar outings against Kent State and Missouri, will be out to take care of business between the hedges against Auburn.
Here are Week 6’s SP+ projections from ESPN’s Bill Connelly:
- Tennessee 31, LSU 29
- Alabama 35, Texas A&M 16
- Mississippi State 33, Arkansas 25
- Georgia 36, Auburn 17
- Ole Miss 41, Vanderbilt 15
- Kentucky 32, South Carolina 20
- Florida 31, Missouri 26
