It is definitely way too early to be putting together power rankings for the 2022-23 men’s basketball season.

Players are still making NBA Draft decisions and the transfer portal is still in full swing. But, speculation is fun!

After Kansas claimed the national title on Monday night in New Orleans, some early top 25 rankings for next year came out. ESPN’s Jeff Borzello released his rankings, and he has 5 SEC teams in the top 25:

  • No. 1 — Arkansas
  • No. 7 — Kentucky
  • No. 14 — Tennessee
  • No. 15 — Alabama
  • No. 16 — Auburn

Borzello also has Texas A&M included outside the top 25 in his “Next in line” section.

Again, these rankings are likely to change drastically over the next few weeks and months, but this is a good look at where things stand now.
