Alabama has defeated Georgia to win the SEC for the first time since 2021! The Tide outlasted Georgia, 27-24 in a thrilling championship bout.

And the Crimson Tide may have doomed the SEC in the process.  Washington downed Oregon and Texas took care of business against Oklahoma State. Florida State, much to the dismay of some in Tuscaloosa, won over Louisville to make the Seminoles 13-0 and ACC champions.

But Alabama may not be dead quite yet. The Seminoles won an ugly game over Louisville and it’s hard to argue Florida State without Jordan Travis is one of the best 4 teams in the country. Nobody knows how the committee will analyze this information, but it’d be a shock if Alabama misses out on the playoff for this Florida State team.

One way or another, the Cardinals threw a fork into the garbage disposal by losing to Florida State as far as projections are concerned.

Ole Miss is now in the NY6 field, with LSU taking their spot in the Citrus Bowl and Tennessee cracking the ReliaQuest Bowl and so on. Texas A&M is now heading to Jacksonville while Kentucky and Auburn stay put in the Mayo and Music City Bowls, respectively.

Here are the final SEC bowl projections following conference championship weekend.
