Florida and Georgia fans heading to Jacksonville for the World’s Largest Outdoor Cocktail Party will have the opportunity to watch the Gators and Bulldogs face off in multiple sports. The City of Jacksonville announced Friday that the UGA and UF baseball teams will play an exhibition game in Jacksonville the day before the football game.

First pitch at Baseball Grounds of Jacksonville is set for 6:30 p.m, the home of the Miami Marlins affiliate the Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp and also the home of a regular-season Florida-Florida State baseball game. After the game, the Baseball Grounds will be the site of a concert featuring country artist Brett Young and other special guests.

The baseball game and concert are part of a celebration the city is calling Duuuval’s Bold City Bash will begin on Tuesday, Oct. 29 and continue through football game day on Saturday, Nov. 2.

“The Florida-Georgia game is one of college football’s most storied rivalries and has deep roots in our community,” Mayor Lenny Curry said in the City of Jacksonville announcement. “This year, we’re working to make the game and surrounding events bigger than ever. The Bold City Bash will bring more people and excitement to Downtown Jacksonville and our Sports & Entertainment Complex, and demonstrates our steadfast commitment to keeping this long-standing tradition here in Jacksonville.”

Adding baseball to a football rivalry weekend may be starting to catch on. In 2018, Tennessee and Alabama faced off on the diamond ahead of the Third Saturday in October football game.
