A long-time former assistant coach in the SEC is the newly named interim coach at Colorado.
Kurt Roper is in his first season as the quarterbacks coach at Colorado after he was the co-offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach at South Carolina. He previously held the same position at Florida. He began his coaching career at Tennessee in 1996 as a graduate assistant, and later was an assistant at Kentucky, Ole Miss and Tennessee.
Roper’s job change came on Sunday after Colorado fired coach Mike MacIntyre following a six-game losing streak that left the team 5-6 after a blowout loss at home against Utah on Saturday,
Earlier in his career, Roper worked with MacIntyre for six years when the two were coaching together at Mississippi (1999 through the 2002 seasons) and at Duke (2008-09).
