The final Saturday of the college football regular season is in the books, which means Black Sunday is here. Some programs, such as Arkansas, Florida State and Rutgers, made in-season decisions to fire their head coaches, but Black Sunday tends to be when the coaching carousel really gets going.

CFB insider Brett McMurphy is reporting, per a source, that Frank Wilson is out at UTSA (University of Texas-San Antonio).

Wilson, who coached at UTSA from 2016-19, got his start in college football coaching as an assistant in the SEC. At Ole Miss, Wilson was on staff as the running backs and special teams coach under Ed Orgeron (2005-07). After Orgeron’s firing, Wilson spent a season (2008) at Southern Miss before returning to the SEC as wide receivers coach on Lane Kiffin’s 2009 Tennessee staff.

As an assistant, Wilson is best known for his time at LSU from 2010-15 as running backs coach and recruiting coordinator. During that time, he was recognized as one of the sport’s top recruiters by multiple outlets, including Rivals.com, Scout.com and 247Sports.

The Roadrunners went 4-8 in 2019. UTSA was 19-29 in four seasons under Wilson.
