Four-star RB Cordarrian Richardson has committed to Clemson, according to a report from 247Sports’ Barton Simmons.

The Memphis native, who rates as the No. 5 RB and 85th best player in the 2017 recruiting class, was loaded down with SEC offers.

Richardson has offers from at least nine of the league’s schools, including Alabama, Auburn, Georgia, Ole Miss and Tennessee.

According to Simmons, Richardson told his high school coach Teli White that he was blown away by Clemson:

“The first thing he told me was it’s phenomenal,” White said. “The coaches, the players, the facilities, everything.”

It’s not the first time, nor the last, that Clemson coach Dabo Swinney will move into SEC territory to grab one of the nation’s elite players.
