Fred Gaskin III is going to be a problem at the next level. Will the SEC be the program to nab his talents?

Gaskin revealed the final 8 schools that he will be choosing from for the 2024 recruiting cycle. Four SEC programs — Alabama, Auburn, Ole Miss, and Tennessee — along with Colorado, Florida State, Michigan State, and Penn State made the final cut.

According to On3 Sports, Gaskin has already visited Auburn, FSU, and Alabama. He is expected to see Josh Heupel and the Volunteers this week for a junior day event, while the rest of his visits are slated to occur this summer.

Gaskin, a 2-way player, is expected to play safety at the next level. In an interview with On3 Sports, Gaskin said 2 of the key components he’s looking for are development and a family feel within the program.

“Player development, good coaching, a family bond when I get around the coaches, and what my family thinks about the schools with education are what’s most important,” Gaskin said.

Gaskin said that he has yet to set a date for his announcement as of this time entering spring workouts. Gaskin noted that whenever the time is right, he’ll know where he’ll be playing in 2024.
