From Bear Bryant to Pat Dye, Alabama TV station releases nostalgic hype video ahead of Iron Bowl

As families gather around the Thanksgiving table this week, they will no doubt share memories of past Iron Bowls. Some of those memories will probably include Iron Bowls coached by Bear Bryant and Pat Dye.
In a hype video to promote its pregame show, CBS-42 put together a collection of video clips from past games and this season’s action for the Crimson Tide and Tigers.
This Iron Bowl, though, takes on a different feeling after LSU clinched the SEC West crown.
Previously, the last seven Iron Bowl winners represented the West in the SEC Championship Game. That was during a glory days-type run of the Tide and Tigers combining to win four consecutive national titles from 2009 to 2012.
For starters, the quarterbacks facing off this week are awfully unique.
Auburn’s Bo Nix in late August became the first true freshman to start a season opener for Auburn since Travis Tidwell in 1946, and he rescued Auburn with a 26-yard touchdown pass to Seth Williams for the victory. However, in losses to LSU, Georgia and Florida, however, Nix has completed just 50 percent of his attempts with three touchdowns and four interceptions.
Alabama’s Mac Jones will make his third career start Saturday and his second since Tua Tagovailoa suffered a dislocated hip. Tagovailoa threw for five touchdowns and rushed for another in last year’s Iron Bowl. The six overall scores set an Alabama single-game record.
