Texas is playing in its first SEC Championship Game. A prominent group of Georgia fans sought to make sure UT students received a hostile greeting upon arrival at Mercedes-Benz Stadium.
Ahead of Saturday’s 4 p.m. ET kickoff, members of the UGA Spike Squad went through the Texas student section and flipped every towel upside down to that they would be greeted by “horns down.”

While there’s plenty of excitement for Saturday’s showdown in Atlanta, it’s a different type of SEC Championship Game. With the College Football Playoff expanding to 12 teams, both teams are set to make the CFP and compete for the national championship. No. 2 Texas and No. 5 Georgia are each positioned to land at-large bids with a loss on Saturday. The winner will receive a first-round bye as one of the 4 highest-ranked conference champions.
