Last Saturday’s game between Georgia and Tennessee drew serious eyeballs.

According to CBS Sports, the Bulldogs’ 41-17 win over the Vols scored the 2nd-best rating in the series since 1997.

The contest between the two averaged nearly 5.8 million viewers, the 2nd time in as many years a Georgia-Tennessee game surpassed 5 million viewers and the 4th time overall.

Tennessee held a lead on the top-ranked Bulldogs after the 1st quarter, 10-7. With a touchdown on its opening drive, Tennessee actually handed Georgia the largest deficit it had faced all season long. But the Bulldogs took control from the 2nd quarter on, scoring 34 straight points en route to their 8th win by 20 points or more this season.

With the win, Georgia moved to 10-0 on the season and 8-0 in conference play. Tennessee dropped to 5-5 (3-4 SEC).
