Oregon football, long the institution that has pushed the boundaries on what is acceptable attire on the football field, is teasing glow-in-the-dark uniforms, and it’s not the first time they’ve done so.

The @GoDucks Twitter account yesterday told the world that they are turning on the lights in 2015.

While the tweet itself refers to a glow-in-the-dark poster, fans around the country believe Oregon is yet again hinting at actual uniforms that glow.

When have the Ducks teased this before? In official offer letters:

Will the Ducks wear actual glow-in-the-dark uniforms during a game? Will it matter?

Perhaps, they would merely turn out the lights during pre-game introductions and let the team shine?

In other uniform news, the San Diego State Aztecs recently revealed “ancient art” designs for a new set of helmets and uniforms. The helmets even feature the Aztec calendar!

These uniforms might seem ridiculous to the southern college football fan that embraces tradition, but it’s easy to see why the schools are doing this. Simply put, we’re talking about them as a result. When the world talks about these uniforms, the recruits notice as well.

While the super strange has not penetrated the SEC, the conference has indeed seen its fair share of wild uniforms in recent years. Georgia’s uniforms against Boise State come to mind.

Heck, just last week Texas A&M revealed an all black “Halloween” uniform. Spooky!

Are we reaching peak uniform in college football? Or, is the trend just beginning?
