Grayson McCall was thought to be one of the best quarterbacks in the transfer portal in recent weeks. The Coastal Carolina quarterback drew interest from Auburn, and was expected to have a big impact on his future team.

However, McCall has reportedly decided to reverse course and return to the Chanticleers, 247Sports reported. McCall has withdrawn from the transfer portal, and one of the most productive passers in the country looks to be returning to Coastal Carolina for another year.

He was a three-year starter for Coastal, and in 2020, the Sun Belt Conference Player of the Year was a finalist for the Manning Award and a semifinalist for the Davey O’Brien National Quarterback Award, the conference Freshman of the Year and first-team All-Sun Belt Conference.

This season, McCall was again the Sun Belt Player of the Year and passed for 2,633 yards and 24 touchdowns with 2 interceptions. He still has 2 seasons of eligibility left. McCall was injured in the Birmingham Bowl last week when he landed on his head in the end zone.
