Disney is reportedly betting big on its new investment into the SEC.

Right now, CBS is set to wind down a $55 million per year deal with the conference before ESPN and ABC take over in 2024. Specific numbers have not been released on how much Disney is paying over the length of its 10-year deal, but according to the Sports Business Journal, it’s a big number: $300 million per year.

The conference’s members stand to benefit in a big way, as well, with TV revenue to each school set to top $20 million.

This is clearly a transformative deal that will set a high bar for other conferences around the country. And it will be interesting to see what happens when ESPN’s deals with the Power 5 conferences come up for renewal: it shares a $2.64 billion contract with FOX and CBS for the Big Ten that ends in 2023, the same year its $3 billion deal for the Pac-12 it shares with FOX concludes. Its agreement with the Big 12 ends in 2024, while it is locked in with the ACC for a much longer period of time: until 2036.
