It was no surprise to see that Georgia was a unanimous No. 1 in the final USA TODAY Sports AFCA Coaches Poll.

The Bulldogs capped off a 15-0 season and 2nd consecutive national title Monday night with a 65-7 destruction of TCU in the College Football Playoff National Championship Game.

TCU finished 2nd in the voting but there were some coaches who didn’t feel that strongly about the Horned Frogs.

In fact, Dana Dimel of Texas-El Paso, Notre Dame’s Marcus Freeman, Jeff Hafley of Boston College, Will Hall of Southern Mississippi, and Pittsburgh’s Pat Narduzzi all voted TCU outside of the top 4.

Of SEC note, new Auburn coach Hugh Freeze voted Georgia at No. 1, Alabama at No. 5, and Tennessee at No. 6, and LSU at No. 14.

Georgia coach Kirby Smart, meanwhile, had Tennessee at No. 5 and Alabama at No. 6, as did Arkansas coach Sam Pittman.

Alabama’s Nick Saban saw things a different way, however. He voted the Crimson Tide at No. 2 and had the Volunteers at No. 6, even though Tennessee beat Alabama in October on a last-second field goal.
