Ranking the Top 25 based on what we saw on the field Saturday with Week 9 rankings in mind, here’s how the AP Top 25 should’ve looked heading into the 10th weekend of games. Comments where deserving:

HOW THE AP TOP 25 SHOULD’VE LOOKED

1. Ohio State (8-0) — The best team in the country once again turns to Cardale Jones as its quarterback. It worked out well last year.

2. Baylor (7-0) — The Bears have one week to figure out their offense without QB Seth Russell before playing the three ranked Big 12 teams to end November.

3. LSU (7-0) — Despite the undefeated record, the last one in the SEC, LSU may need to win on the road at Alabama and Ole Miss to make the conference championship game.

4. Clemson (8-0) —  In a weak ACC the Tigers look like a good bet to go undefeated. The offense (191 points in past four games) has gotten the job done.

5. TCU (8-0) — With all the attention on the finale against Baylor, the Horned Frogs better not overlook undefeated Oklahoma State this week.

6. Alabama (7-1) — Alabama’s season comes down to a home game against LSU. Funny thing is, even with a win the Tide still needs LSU’s help to get back to the SEC Championship.

7. Michigan State (8-0) — Two tuneups until the Nov. 21 showdown at Ohio State.

8. Florida (7-1) —Essentially the Gators have locked up their first trip to the SEC Championship since 2009 with a dominating win over Georgia last week.

9. Notre Dame (7-1) — The Final Four wild card stayed in the hunt with a critical comeback win at Temple.

10. Stanford (7-1)

11. Oklahoma State (8-0)

12. Iowa (8-0)

13. Memphis (8-0)

14. Florida State (7-1) — ACC Championship Game is Dec. 5 in Charlotte. Its Game of the Year is Saturday, when the ‘Noles travel to Clemson.

15. Utah (7-1)

16. Oklahoma (7-1)

17. Ole Miss (7-2) — The Rebels clearly have one of the most talented teams in the country, the question is whether they can take the next step in the final month.

18. Michigan (6-2) — Wolverines won’t make the Final Four, but they can crush others’ dreams.

19. Toledo (7-0) — Aside from a Week 3 loss to Texas Tech the Razorbacks have lost to Toledo, Texas A&M, and Alabama. 4-4 all the sudden doesn’t look so bad.

20. Houston (8-0)

21. North Carolina (7-1) — First time since Mack Brown that football is relevant in basketball season.

22. Mississippi State (6-2) — Stick Mississippi State in any other conference and QB Dak Prescott would have this team ranked much higher.

23.  Texas A&M (6-2) — A&M needs too much help to make the SEC Championship at this point.

24. UCLA (6-2)

25. Temple (7-1)
