The Brown football team has made a historic move in the Division I football ranks.

On Monday, the Bears announced that they had promoted Heather Marini to the position of QB coach. Now, she is officially the first female position coach in Division I history.

Below, you can see the official announcement posted by Brown to Twitter:

“Heather has earned the coaching position,” said Brown head coach James Perry in a release. “In one season with our program, Heather has done a great job for us.  She has proven through her efforts in the office every day with us in an off-the-field role that she’s ready to run the quarterback room.”

Marini served as an offensive quality control analyst in 2019 and will be the QB coach this fall.
