Jalen Hurts is a rushing touchdown machine, especially with the way the Philadelphia Eagles push him into the endzone. On Sunday, he broke a playoff record.
Hurts was credited with 10 carries for 16 yards, with a long rush of 9 yards. On 3 of those carries, the former Alabama and Oklahoma standout crossed the goal line. Hurts now has 9 rushing touchdowns in the playoffs, a new record for quarterbacks. He passes the legendary Steve Young on the list.
The long run of 9 yards was a non-push TD for Hurts, extending Philadelphia’s lead over Washington to 34-15 with the successful extra point.
Hurts was more than just a runner in Sunday’s 55-23 victory for the Eagles. He was a highly productive passer, going 20-of-28 for 246 yards and 1 touchdown with no interceptions.
The Eagles are likely going to need both from Hurts in Super Bowl LIX. Philadelphia is set to play the AFC Champion in New Orleans in 2 weeks. The Kansas City Chiefs and Buffalo Bills are set to battle it out for a spot in The Big Game.
For the 2024 regular season, Hurts was 248-of-361 (68.7% complete) for 2,903 yards with 18 touchdowns and 5 interceptions. Hurts has yet to throw an interception in the playoffs. He ran 150 times for 630 yards and 14 scores during the regular season.
