During the 2014 recruiting cycle, two of the most sought-after defensive backs were CB Jalen Tabor and S Jamal Adams. The 5-star prospects became friends at The Opening competition camp, and that led to a friendly wager between friends: the higher NFL Draft pick would get to go on a trip paid for by the other.

“Basically, the bet is if he goes before me I have to pay for a trip anywhere in the country,” Adams told the NFL Network. “If I go before him, he’s gonna do the same. I told him from the get go that I was gonna go before him so we’ll see.”

While Adams said “country,” it appears both players have international trips in mind. Adams indicated he’s thinking of going to Paris, while Tabor has said he might go to “Amsterdam or something.”

Tabor was the higher-rated recruit on the 247Sports Composite at the time (No. 14 overall to No. 31), but he might regret making the bet.  ESPN’s Todd McShay has Adams going No. 3 overall, while Tabor misses the cut for the first round (though teammate Quincy Wilson is at No. 32). On NFLDraftScout.com, Adams is currently ranked the No. 5 prospect overall.

One might expect Adams to go easy on his old friend, and not necessarily over-indulge on Tabor’s dime. On the other hand, we’re talking about players who were a part of a rivalry which took on new life this past season.

If Adams wants to  go all out in Paris, he could leave Tabor with quite a tab to pick up as a little revenge for Florida’s 16-10 win on Nov. 19, and Tabor’s celebration.
