Jayden Quaintance has announced his commitment, and he’s headed to the SEC.

Quaintance, who is considered to be a 5-star prospect by 247Sports composite, is heading to Kentucky to play for John Calipari, he announced on Tuesday.

Quaintance is considered to be the No. 8 player nationally, the No. 2 center in the country and the No. 1 player out of North Carolina. The Raleigh, North Carolina, native stands at 6-foot-9 and will be a huge add for Kentucky in 2024.

Quaintance held offers from Florida, Missouri and a handful of other teams. He is joining a recruiting class that already features a 5-star prospect and 2 4-star prospects. The Wildcats have the No. 1 overall recruiting class for 2024, just behind Duke.

Calipari is looking for a big season after a handful of disappointing years, relative to Kentucky standards. Last season, the Wildcats finished 22-12 and were knocked out of the NCAA Tournament in the second round.

The Wildcats picked up a pair of wins in their first 2 games and have a big test Tuesday night against Kansas in the State Farm Champions Classic.
