Jeff Fisher may be getting back into coaching, and this time on the college level.

The former Tennessee Titans coach has interviewed for the job at East Tennessee State, the Tennessean reported. A source told the newspaper that Fisher is putting serious thought into the position and may accept it if offered.

Fisher, 63, spent the past season a senior advisor on the staff at Tennessee State, which is coached by former Titans All-Pro running back Eddie George.

The ETSU job came open last week with the retirement of Randy Sanders, a former Tennessee Vols quarterback and offensive coordinator, and Kentucky assistant. Sanders led the Bucs to an 11-2 record and the quarterfinals of the FCS playoffs.

Fisher last year was inducted into the Tennessee Sports Hall of Fame.

Fisher’s NFL coaching career was 22 seasons, as he coached from 1994-2010 with the Houston Oilers/Tennessee Titans.

Fisher and the Titans made 6 playoff appearances, won 3 division titles, played in 2 AFC Championship Games and in one Super Bowl. He posted a 142-120 record in 16 seasons with the Titans, and he guided the Titans into the franchise’s only Super Bowl appearance during the 1999 season, according to the Titans.
