With Jerry Jones’ huge personality and the high expectations in the big Dallas-Fort Worth market, the Dallas Cowboys head coaching job doesn’t appeal to everyone. However, don’t count Urban Meyer as part of that group.

Meyer said last week that the Cowboys head coaching position is “the one job in professional football you say, ‘I got to go do that.'” Unsurprisingly, Jones agreed.

“For Urban Meyer to say that is a compliment,” Jones said on 105.3 The Fan in Dallas via Michael Pro Football Talk. “Period. I really know that. The job is a great job. Now, that’s not implying that I made it that way, or I don’t make it that way. It’s just the place to be.”

Meyer revealed his thoughts on the Dallas coaching job during a guest appearance with FOX’s “The Herd” with Colin Cowherd, who was asking Meyer whether Oklahoma coach Lincoln Riley would be really leave the Sooners to coach the Cowboys.

It’s still unclear how Riley feels, but Meyer made it clear that the Cowboys is still a very appealing job despite the drawbacks.

As if current Cowboys coach Jason Garrett wasn’t already dealing with enough, it’s not public knowledge the legendary college coach covets his job. Many others probably do too.

Garrett is seemingly on the hot seat every single year, but he’s led the Cowboys to the NFC East title two of the last three years. Dallas has started the 2019 season 4-3.
