Jim Thorpe Award watch list for 2022 includes 6 SEC defensive backs

The Jim Thorpe Award watch list was released on Monday, naming 35 of the nation’s top defensive backs for the 2022 season.
The award is given annually to the top defensive back in college football, and there are several contenders from the SEC who made the cut.
As you can see below, Georgia placed 2 players on the watch list, with Alabama, Arkansas, Texas A&M and South Carolina also having a player honored:
- Jordan Battle, Alabama
- Jalen Catalon, Arkansas
- Antonio Johnson, Texas A&M
- Kelee Ringo, Georgia
- Cam Smith, South Carolina
- Christopher Smith, Georgia
