Jimbo Fisher: Two-loss SEC Champ isn't better than one-loss Power 5 team

We’ll call it preseason posturing.

While at ESPN’s Car Wash on Tuesday, Jimbo Fisher was asked whether a two-loss SEC Champion should get into the College Football Playoff over an undefeated or one-loss Power 5 Conference team.

Could this be the year we find out that answer?

The SEC could cannibalize itself during the 2015 season. A two-loss SEC Champion is something that we’ve discussed during the preseason. Could it be left out of the playoff?

Obviously, the selection committee could see it differently than Fisher, but looking through the eyes of the committee, it would be hard to leave an undefeated team out of the playoff over a two-loss SEC Champion, correct or not. A one-loss Power 5 Conference Champion from the Big Ten, Pac-12 or the ACC would be an entirely different debate.

Fisher also added this nugget in Bristol:
