The Joe Moore Award is the most prestigious prize in college football bestowed to an offensive line. On Tuesday, the Midseason Honor Roll was announced and the SEC led the nation with 6 units on the list.

Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, LSU, Missouri, and Tennessee are the SEC squads still in contention for the award.

Florida is 6th in the SEC in total yards per game (421.7). Georgia leads the SEC in rushing touchdowns (19) and is ranked No. 12 nationally in sacks allowed per game (0.86). Kentucky has only given up 11 sacks and 32 tackles for loss.

LSU’s offensive line has been crucial to the success of a unit that ranks 3rd nationally in points per game (45.3). Missouri ranks 4th in the SEC in yards per game (445.4). Tennessee has overcome injuries along the offensive line to rank No. 6 nationally in rushing yards per game (231.3).

The semifinals will be revealed on Nov. 14 and then the finalists will be announced on Dec. 5. The winner of the award will be confirmed through a surprise campus visit in late December.

ESPN analyst Cole Cubelic is the chairman of the voting committee. The former Auburn offensive lineman is excited to see how the rest of the season unfolds.

“The bar will raise significantly from here, and the consistency required to earn further recognition will be how the elite units eventually separate themselves,” Cubelic said.

Voting committee member Lance Zierlien adds that maintaining health down the stretch run will be a key factor.

“Our experience has shown that the cream begins to rise to the top from here on out, so we’ll keep a closer eye on all units to see how they finish down the stretch, especially in November,” Zierlien said. “As always, having some depth and staying healthy will be critical.”
