The skilled players get much of the credit in football, but the foundation of a good offense is a strong offensive line. The offensive line play in the SEC is as good as there is in the country, and, as such, 3 teams have been named as Joe Moore Award semifinalists.

Alabama, Tennessee and Texas represent the SEC.

The semifinal list includes 10 total offensive line units. The voting committee will name finalists on Dec. 3.

The Alabama offense displayed a dominating performance in the 42-13 win against LSU last Saturday. The Crimson Tide rushed for 312 yards and 6 touchdowns in the win.

On the season, Alabama has rushed for 34 touchdowns, which is 3rd in the country. The offensive line has made things easy for the running backs, as the Crimson Tide get 51.2% of their rushing yards before contact, which ranks 5th.

Their strong play is also a big reason why quarterback Jalen Milroe is having the season he is. Milroe has thrown for 2,046 yards and 13 touchdowns and has also rushed for 565 yards and an Alabama record 16 touchdowns.

The Volunteers offensive line has once again helped the team be the top rushing team in the SEC at 235.1 yards per game. In their biggest win of the season against Alabama, Tennessee rushed for 214 yards. That is the most yards that Alabama has given up on the ground all year. Running back Dylan Sampson is having an All-American season with 1,129 yards and 20 touchdowns.

The Texas offensive line is one of the most experienced in college football, and they have helped Texas deliver big plays on offense. The Longhorns lead the country in 20+ yard plays, and that takes a line either clearing a ton of running space or giving the quarterback time to look down the field. Quarterback Quinn Ewers has thrown for 1,722 yards and 19 touchdowns this season.
