Joel Klatt believes Texas A&M could be on track to make the College Football Playoff.

It’s not all that crazy, especially after the Aggies’ dismantling of then-No. 9 Mizzou this past Saturday. The Aggies are a perfect 3-0 in SEC play and are one of 3 SEC teams who have not lost a conference game.

On Monday night, Klatt shared this message on social media:

Texas A&M is still a slight underdog to make the College Football Playoff this season. The Aggies are currently +120 to do so, according to the latest odds from FanDuel.

Amongst SEC teams, Texas A&M is behind Texas, Georgia, Ole Miss and Tennessee in the betting odds. If the Aggies do earn a berth, they would be reaching the College Football Playoff for the first time in Texas A&M football history.

It’s been a remarkable turnaround from Texas A&M, particularly since the Aggies have played most of this season without their starting quarterback in Conner Weigman. Marcel Reed led Texas A&M to 3 consecutive wins in September before Weigman returned to the lineup and played very well against Mizzou on Saturday.

Texas A&M’s defense has also been a big part of its turnaround. After struggling to stop the run against Texas A&M in the opener, the Aggies have seemingly fixed their issues up front. Texas A&M has held each of its last 4 opponents to under 4 yards per carry.

Texas A&M is idle in Week 7. The Aggies will be back in action on Oct. 19 against Mississippi State in Starkville.
