Joel Klatt has released his latest top 10 rankings following Week 12, and the Fox Sports analyst kept his top 4 the same from last week: Georgia, Ohio State, Michigan and TCU.
Klatt sent Tennessee packing from the top 10 following the Vols’ loss at South Carolina. They were ranked No. 6 last week by Klatt. He bumped Southern Cal up from No. 8 to No. 5, and kept LSU at No. 6, and Alabama at No. 7. Penn State bumped up 1 spot to No. 8, and Clemson and Washington rounded out the top 10.
Separate from his rankings, Klatt has said that he believes Southern Cal makes the Playoff if it wins out.
The easiest decision for the College Football Playoff committee, and pundits like Klatt, would be to drop the loser of the Michigan-Ohio State game. However, the margin of that game combined with how USC and TCU finish the season could stoke a hearty debate. With Tennessee likely out of the mix, an LSU upset of Georgia is likely the main path for the SEC to get 2 teams in the top 4.
