Get ready for a wild story as former Cougar offensive lineman Justin Murphy just went scorched earth on Dana Holgorsen and the Houston football program after leaving the team this week.

News of Murphy’s departure from the team was first reported by Joseph Duarte of the Houston Chronicle. Murphy’s time in Houston was short, as he was a graduate transfer from UCLA. Interestingly, Murphy started his college career at Texas Tech before moving on to UCLA via transfer.

A few days after the report of Murphy leaving the team was published, Murphy called out Houston and singled out head coach Dana Holgorsen specifically in a long thread released on Twitter.

In the thread, Murphy details Houston’s unique motivational tactics heading into a brutal early slate of games, his injuries suffered while playing college football, Houston’s attempted plan to essentially punt on the 2019 season by redshirting several key players for 2020 — including star quarterback D’Eriq King, and Holgorsen’s less-than-personal reaction to Murphy leaving the team.

Neither Houston nor Holgorsen have issued a response to these comments at this time.
