Kansas State AD Gene Taylor slams Kirk Herbstreit for comments about 2020 football season
ESPN analyst Kirk Herbstreit made waves last week when he said he would be surprised if there was an NFL or college football season this fall.
Though he is certainly entitled to his opinion, apparently not everyone thinks that way. One of those people is Kansas State AD Gene Taylor.
Taylor slammed Herbstreit on Tuesday, saying the ESPN analyst shouldn’t tell us what to do (which Herbstreit was never trying to do):
K-State AD Gene Taylor was frustrated with Kirk Herbstreit saying he’d be "shocked" to see football played this fall:
“I appreciate Kirk becoming a medical doctor and telling us what we should or shouldn’t do. I’m not ready to go there yet.”

Again, we’ll step in to defend Herbie here. He was never claiming to be a medical expert. He was simply giving his opinion on a topic that many people are talking about.
Herbstreit would probably be one of the people most excited to see a season played this fall. Taylor is welcome to his opinion, too, but to say Herbstreit was trying to play a doctor is off base.
