Kirk Herbstreit, ESPN agree to multi-year extension
Kirk Herbstreit may have just signed a deal to call Thursday night NFL games alongside Al Michaels for Amazon, but don’t expect him to give up his college football duties at ESPN just yet.
In fact, on Wednesday, the Worldwide Leader announced it had agreed to a multi-year extension with the popular college football analyst.
Per the release, Herbstreit, who enters his 26th year with ESPN, will continue in his role as a College GameDay analyst and part of the Saturday Night Football broadcast team:

“I am so proud of the work our ESPN and ABC team does on college football – this has been my family for 26 years and my passion for the sport is unwavering,” said Herbstreit in the press release. “Calling college games and being a part of College GameDay is important to me. I am very appreciative of Jimmy Pitaro for his leadership and for allowing me to continue in this role with Disney.”
Herbstreit also weighed in on his 5-year extension on Twitter, saying he’s also grateful to be calling NFL games on Amazon Prime Video alongside Al Michaels:
So excited to take on this new opportunity with @PrimeVideo and the @NFL on Thursday nights and to also be locked in for another 5 years with ESPN and our CFB team that sets the bar in our industry. #Grateful https://t.co/2yK0lBwGHZ

It’s safe to say we’ll continue to see plenty of Herbstreit on our televisions during football season for the next few years!
