One of the biggest games in the SEC this weekend will take place in Baton Rouge, where LSU will host Auburn.

Coach Ed Orgeron’s squad followed up a home loss to Troy with an impressive road win at Florida last weekend.

On College GameDay on Saturday morning, ESPN analyst Kirk Herbstreit weighed in on LSU, saying last week’s victory saved the Tigers’ season.

“It wasn’t pretty, but they found a way to win,” he said. “Winning 17-16 at The Swamp saves their season.”

Herbie added that he thinks LSU’s defense will keep the game close this weekend, but picked Auburn to win the game.

“It’s not been what you expect from an LSU defense, but it has potential,” he said. “If this game were on the road, I don’t think LSU would compete. Auburn will find a way to win, but it’ll be one of those bizarre 17-12, 18-13 scores.”

Herbie wasn’t alone, as Desmond Howard and David Pollack also picked Auburn to win.

See what happens when the game kicks off at 2:30 p.m. Central time on CBS.
