Jameson Williams made only 1 catch during Alabama’s 63-14 win over Southern Miss on Saturday. But that lone reception, along with his incredible play on special teams, was more than enough for the Crimson Tide junior to make an impression on ESPN analyst Kirk Herbstreit.

On Monday, Herbstreit revealed his top 7 performing players of Week 4, and he put Williams at No. 2 on the list. The only player ranked ahead of Williams was Texas junior quarterback Casey Thompson.

Williams’ lone catch against Southern Miss was an 81-yard touchdown grab in the second quarter. But he also returned the game’s opening kickoff 100 yards for a score, then added another kick return touchdown in the fourth quarter, returning that one 83 yards to the end zone.

While Williams was the highest-ranked SEC player on Herbstreit’s list, he also included Arkansas junior wide receiver Treylon Burks at No. 3 and Florida redshirt junior quarterback Emory Jones at No. 5.
