South Carolina and Missouri may not be having the best seasons, but each fared well in Week 12. The Gamecocks notched a 21-17 win over Auburn, while the Tigers pulled out a 24-23 victory in overtime against Florida.

It was a pair of impressive performances from the 2 SEC East teams, and they got the attention of Kirk Herbstreit. The ESPN analyst included both South Carolina and Mizzou among his top 6 performing teams of the past week, a list he shared on Twitter on Tuesday:

South Carolina trailed early on Saturday, as Auburn jumped out to a 14-0 lead through 1 quarter. However, the Gamecocks held the visiting Tigers to 3 points the rest of the way, while Jason Brown’s 7-yard touchdown pass to Josh Vann put them ahead with 4 minutes, 57 seconds to go.

South Carolina improved to 6-5 and became bowl eligible with the win.

Missouri couldn’t stop Florida from scoring a touchdown on the opening possession of overtime, but that ended up not mattering. The Tigers responded with a 13-yard TD run from Tyler Badie, then won the game on a successful 2-point conversion, as Connor Bazelak completed a pass to Daniel Parker Jr.

Mizzou also improved to 6-5 and is now eligible for a bowl game.
