Kirk Herbstreit lays out multiple CFP scenarios based on what happens in SEC Championship Game

After the completion of the Big 12 Championship Game, the College Football Playoff and New Year’s Six picture remained largely unclear. Oklahoma could go to the College Football Playoff or the Sugar Bowl. Texas could still potentially go to the Sugar Bowl.

Obviously, all eyes are on the SEC Championship Game. Kirk Herbstreit shared three CFP scenarios based on the outcome in Atlanta. In short, Herbie considers Alabama in the semifinals regardless of the outcome. Georgia is also in unless it gets blown out. That appears highly unlikely with UGA leading 14-7 in the second quarter.

Two SEC teams in the final four would send No. 9 Florida to the Sugar Bowl as the SEC representative against the highest-ranked available Big 12 team.
