Kirk Herbstreit releases his top-performing players after each week of college football action.

After Week 3, included 4 SEC players in his list of 7 athletes.

At No. 1 was Alabama QB Jalen Milroe. The QB completed 12-of-17 passes for 196 yards and 3 TDs. Milroe also rushed 14 times for 75 yards and 2 TDs in a dominant 42-10 win for the Crimson Tide.

The next SEC inclusion was Oklahoma’s R Mason Thomas at No. 3. The edge rusher racked up 3 sacks against Tulane and helped the Sooners secure a 34-19 victory over the Green Wave.

At No. 5 was Texas A&M QB Marcel Reed. Reed filled in admirably for Conner Weigman, throwing for 178 yards with 2 TDs. The QB also gained 83 yards on the ground and scored a rushing TD. Reed was able to lead the Aggies to a commanding win over the Florida Gators in Weigman’s absence.

Finally, Herbstreit included LSU’s Bradyn Swinson. Swinson had a massive day against South Carolina, racking up 3 sacks and 5 total tackles. The Tigers went down to the wire against the Gamecocks but pulled out the 36-33 victory.

The other players included on Herbstreit’s list were Oregon QB Dillon Gabriel, UCF RB RJ Harvey, and Kansas State QB Avery Johnson. All 3 players had dominant performances and led their teams to big wins.

Week 3 represented a big boost for SEC players, as only 2 players from the conference made Herbstreit’s list for Week 2.

It will be interesting to see which SEC players make it on the list after Week 4. The Tennessee-Oklahoma game is a matchup that could produce several different star performances.
