Kirk Herbstreit revealed his top-performing teams of Week 12 on Monday, including 2 SEC squads on the list of 7.

South Carolina leads the list at No. 1 while Vanderbilt checks in at No. 4. Both teams pulled off big upsets that resulted in fans rushing the field afterward.

South Carolina entered Saturday’s game against a top-5 Tennessee as a 3-touchdown underdog. Shane Beamer’s squad pulled off a shocking 63-38 upset behind a career performance from QB Spencer Rattler (30-of-37, 438 yards, 6 TD). The Gamecocks will look to stay hot with another rival, Clemson, on tap Saturday.

Vanderbilt was also a multi-touchdown underdog against Florida (14 points). The Commodores got out to a 28-12 lead in the second half and held on for a 31-24 win. Clark Lea’s squad has now won back-to-back SEC contests for the first time since 2018 against Ole Miss and Tennessee. If Vandy can knock off UT on Saturday to make it 3 in a row, the team will be bowl eligible with 6 wins.

Herbstreit also recognized USC, Georgia Tech, Oregon, Navy and Montana State.
