ESPN analyst Kirk Herbstreit is well aware of the top two contenders for the SEC championship, and both of them are in his latest top 6 rankings he released on Sunday.

They are unchanged from a week ago, but before Herbstreit called the Notre Dame-North Carolina game where the Fighting Irish pulled away for a victory.

“Notre Dame is the most complete team in college football. I’d put them No. 1 next week,” Herbstreit said on “College GameDay” Saturday morning, but must’ve been impressed with Alabama in the Iron Bowl to leave the Crimson Tide at No. 1 where they were last week for him.

This is Herbstreit’s top 4 teams, not necessarily who he thinks will be ranked in the top 4 Tuesday night.

Herbstreit didn’t expect Alabama to miss a beat because of the absence of Nick Saban in the Iron Bowl.

“I’ll be shocked if they miss a beat of any kind,” he said. “If Nick Saban had missed the whole week, maybe it would be a different story. … I think they’ll just go out as a group, led by Sark, and execute and put the players in position to go out and have a big day.”

Clemson ranks No. 3, and Ohio State ranks No. 4, according to Herbstreit. Florida and Cincinnati rank outside of the top 4, and Texas A&M is once again nowhere to be found despite the head-to-head win over the Gators.
